The award, which was founded in 2019, can be given to business leaders and researchers, as well as companies, academic institutions, or other organizations.
Previous Award Winners
- 2019: Author Anders Johnson, for his – already! – long work as a popular historian conveying the history of Swedish companies and industry.
- 2020: The award was paused due to the Covid-pandemic.
- 2021: Ekonomiska museet and Dalénmuseet in Stenstorp for their exemplary public education efforts.
- 2022: Håkan Lindgren, professor emeritus at the Stockholm School of Economics and Uppsala University, for his contributions as a business historian over more than five decades, and for his leading role in shaping the field of business history research in Sweden.
- 2023: IKEA, for its active usage of history, where the company also places its own history in the broader societal narrative of Sweden. (The award was received by the IKEA Museum.)
- 2024: Mats Larsson, professor emeritus at Uppsala University, for his long academic career in economic history and business history, with substantial own research and for having created new generations of economic historians as a research leader.
- 2025: Näringslivsarkiv i Norrland, for its work in preserving and making accessible the history of northern Sweden's business community.

Nomination process and selection process
Every spring, the jury opens a nomination period, inviting the public to nominate candidates for the award. During the summer and autumn, the jury reviews the nomination list and deliberates on possible recipients. In early autumn, the jury selects this year's recipients. The award ceremony takes place later in the autumn. In years when the Centre for Business History organizes a History Marketing Summit, the award ceremony usually occurs there.
