In the motivation, the jury writes: "Alexander Husebye has made significant contributions to spreading awareness of the fundamental importance that free enterprise and enterprising people have had for Sweden's prosperity over the past 150 years. He successfully works both to make our enterprising history easily accessible to many people through modern tools and to preserve it for future generations."
– I feel happy, proud, and a bit cheeky to have been awarded the Curt Nicolin Prize. It is proof of appreciation for what I myself have been engaged in – making business history relevant, thought-provoking, and accessible to everyone interested. It is, of course, also an acknowledgment of all the skilled colleagues' work at the Center for Business History. And finally, I take the prize as an encouragement to continue the work with even greater intensity, says Alexander Husebye.
The Curt Nicolin Prize is an award in memory of the business leader Curt Nicolin. Since 2006, the prize has been awarded by Svenskt Näringsliv to one or more individuals who have made outstanding contributions to public debate in the spirit of Curt Nicolin. The prize consists of a diploma and a monetary sum of 50,000 kronor.
