This year, Sweden and Brazil celebrate 200 years of diplomatic relations. We celebrate with the book Portraits of Cooperation – 200 Years of Swedish-Brazilian Relations (Business History Publishing), a follow-up book to the one about the countries' share business history that we made three years ago.
Here you’ll meet royals, industrial pioneers, researchers, poets, soccer players—and a well-known fighter jet. Plus 42 Swedish companies in Brazil, from long-established players such as SKF, Ericsson and Atlas Copco to newer arrivals such as Mölnlycke, Sinch and H&M.
H.M. Queen Silvia has written the book’s closing remarks—and received the very first copy at the Swedish-Brazilian Association’s anniversary gala at the Vasa Museum last Friday.
The book is a collaboration between the Swedish-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and us at the Centre for Business History, with support from the Embassy of Sweden in Brazil and Wallenberg Investments (formerly FAM). It is available in English now and will be released in Portuguese later this year.
