By the summer of 2008, the brewery Spendrups has launched a new beer: Mariestad prima lager. Brewmaster Richard Bengtsson had the Swedish lager from the 1840s as a model when creating the beer.
At the launch, historical stories and photos were used. The result is an intensely yellow, strong beer, with a lovely rich hop tone.
For some reason, I thought of the German beer Königsbacher when tasting, although Prima lager has a different hop tone, more reminiscent of England.

It is a cultural achievement in any case to recreate historical brews.
