Wholesaler Dagab celebrated 50 years and highlighted its history with an annniversary magazine that we produced for them.
Dagab Procurement & Logistics manages and develops the food group Axfood's range and is responsible for the flow of goods with warehousing and transportation. It is Dagab that ensures food and other products reach retailers such as Willys and Hemköp, as well as Axfood's other retail chains and e-tailers. They also develop and manage the Axfood Group's own brand products, such as Garant and Eldorado.
The company celebrated 50 years in 2024 - although their history is actually longer than that. In 1974, the Daily Goods Wholesalers' interest organization AB (Dagab) was formed when six already active wholesalers joined forces to offer retailers a free alternative to ICA's and KF's closed systems. Anyone could trade with Dagab, without membership requirements or exclusive agreements.
Ahead of the 50th anniversary, they contacted the Centre for Business History to help tell their story. They invited us to be guest editors of the year's last issue of Dagab's staff magazine. We created a 24-page special edition about the years gone by, focusing on what Dagab can carry forward as the company looks ahead to the next 50 years.
(By the way, a few years ago we also helped Dagab's owner Axfood with an anniversary magazine.)
