The material is distributed across several locations and constitutes an invaluable treasure for both local history and the history of how Sweden became wealthy. The Centre for Business History has been tasked with inventorying the archives and proposing measures to preserve them in the best possible way.
Chronologically, the material spans from around 1890 to the present. Historical documents characterizing the archives in Kiruna include, among others, Hjalmar Lundbohm's historical archive, projects and investigations related to mining operations including constructions and machinery. The material is also characterized by LKAB's collaboration with the city of Kiruna and the development of the locality.
