On behalf of the Swedish Archives Association, we have produced a published "Memory Hunters", a handbook with concrete tips on how to best document unfolding events as they happen.
When the corona pandemic swept across the world in 2020, the Swedish Archive Association encouraged its members to document the events as they unfolded. The goal was to capture the unprecedented events then and there while they was happening, and not wait until later to collect material. Those active in archives, in turn, needed concrete tips on how to document contemporary times. Archive organizations across Sweden soon started sharing tips, tools and methods with each other.
This book was born out of that process. The author Hampus Busk started from all the tips and tools that were shared during the pandemic years and built on with interviews and research. The result is this handbook in real-time documentation, intended to be used whenever you want to capture what is happening in the present.
The book is produced and published by our Business History Publishing on behalf of Swedish Archives Association (Svenska Arkivförbundet). It is available in Swedish only, and can be bought at Swedish online retailers such as Bokus, Adlibris, Akademibokhandeln or wherever books are sold.
