The new book "Team Maggan – H&M's first design director and coworkers on fashion, people and possibilities" (Langenskiöld, 2025) portrays H&M's first design director, Margareta van den Bosch, and the work behind the fashion chain's creative processes.
Written by fashion and sustainability expert Catarina Midby, the book builds on interviews with a large number of H&M coworkers over the years - and of course also draws on the H&M historical archive, which we manage for H&M since 2008.
The book depicts H&M's creative journey through the people who shaped the company's design culture. The focus is on Margareta van den Bosch, H&M's first design director, and her team. It also highlights both internal and external collaborators who have contributed during the journey 1987–2025: designers, buyers, country managers, CEOs, communicators, sustainability experts, guest designers, filmmakers, and show producers.
