We at the Centre for Business History created an anniversary magazine for the construction company JM - which brings 75 years of history to life, by revisiting important articles from the internal newspaper's history and having today's JM compare the development.
In 2020, the construction company JM celebrated its 75th anniversary. It was in 1945 that John Mattsson founded the company that took his initials. Since then, JM has built houses and entire communities in Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
The anniversary magazine JM75 was distributed to all employees of the company along with the last issue of the internal magazine JM-Nytt for the year. The anniversary magazine was based on JM-Nytt's extensive article archive, which is available in JM's archive with us at the Centre for Business History. The JM75 magazine reprinted articles written in previous issues of JM-Nytt – and had today's JM employees comment on how the developments in the areas described by the articles look today. In this way, the anniversary magazine shows the development in, for example, construction methods, workplace safety, equality – and of course, the houses and areas JM has built over the years.
