The exhibition displays both pictures and film from the insurance company Skandia's long history and connects to the historical website created by the Centrum för Näringslivshistoria for the company.
— Skandia has an amazing history! We have gone through crises that have caused the history to be forgotten at times, but we believe this is a good way to showcase the company's entire history. It is important to understand where you come from to know where you are headed, says Skandia's brand manager Sven Ljungberg, who initiated both the website and the exhibition.
During the week the exhibition runs, actor Lennart R Svensson is also present to give a short speech each day around lunchtime on various themes from the company's history. Many take the opportunity to drop by and listen for a while in the large atrium where the exhibition is set up.
— This is a good way to engage the staff. They are the best ambassadors for our brand, explains Sven Ljungberg.
Besides giving the company's employees a chance to learn more about the history in this way, they can also contribute to the history themselves. A "confession booth" makes it possible to record their own Skandia story to preserve for posterity.
Sven Ljungberg says this has been somewhat of a dream project for him, a project carried out with the help of Centrum för Näringslivshistoria.
— We are very pleased with the collaboration. And we are not quite finished yet. Although the exhibition will only last for a few weeks, we hope to add even more material to the website eventually.
After Stockholm, the exhibition will move on to Skandia's offices in Gothenburg, Sundsvall, and Linköping.
