Over a little more than two decades in the mid-nineteenth century, our country underwent a series of profound reforms in various areas. With them, the foundation was laid for modern Sweden and the almost unimaginably rapid increase in living standards that encompassed not only a narrow elite but the entire society. A decisive moment in that process was the introduction of general economic freedom in 1864.
In collaboration with Dialogos Förlag, the Centre for Business History has commissioned six economic historians to write individual sections of the history focusing on how companies have influenced Sweden's modern history. The book will become a standard work and is suitable for anyone interested in history.
The history of the Swedish business community 1864-2014 is told in 760 pages and costs 286 SEK. Make sure to secure your own copy of the book by ordering it here!
