Getting Started with Digital Preservation
Our consulting manager Per-Ola Karlsson shares knowledge on how companies can manage and archive their digital information! He gives tips on how to get started with digital archiving, as well as how to think strategically about long-term storage of digital documents. He also provides concrete examples of the added value and business benefits a digital archive can provide a company.
Archive, how it works
Our core service is to manage company archives for them. But what exactly is included in an archive? How do you determine which documents should be preserved, and how do you then work to keep them accessible? What does it cost – and what does it cost to not have an archive solution in place?
All this was covered by archivist Gustav Svensson during a webinar. Our vice CEO Krister Hillerud opened.
Basics of History Marketing
With its historical material, companies can create a strategic asset to use in communication, brand building, and change efforts. Our communications manager Anders Sjöman explains how you can activate your company's history as a business-building tool and provides many examples of how other companies have worked with history, both Swedish and foreign.
The first electric cars
The Swedish inventor Waldemar Jungner was about to crack the problem of battery-powered cars – already in 1900. With his revolutionary alkaline battery, he set the world record for battery-powered cars on the streets of Stockholm – 148.5 kilometers on a single charge. Jungner's invention became the foundation for one of Sweden's ingenuity industries, but the inventor himself grew tired of the battery world after patent disputes with Thomas Edison in the USA, who shortly after the Swede had patented a similar invention.
In "Batterifabriken: En uthållig kraftkälla i Oskarshamn" (Förlaget Näringslivshistoria, 2018), the development is portrayed. The book's author Anders Houltz tells the story from a nearly forgotten inventor, Waldemar Jungner, and his battery solution to today's modern battery manufacturers.
The Importance of Economic Freedom for Sweden
Our school coordinator Anahi Davila, business historian Anders Johnson, and research director Anders Houltz discuss the beginning of modern Sweden, the man behind the economic freedom reform Johan August Gripenstedt, women's entrepreneurship, as well as the emergence and development of the Swedish model. The moderator is Gustav Svensson.
